3D Modeling

Enfield Model

With my experience with 3D modeling primarily objects, from previous courses and game projects, I decided I wanted to try and learn how to make my own character models. The above is the first model I made going for a stylized low poly model.

When I moved on to my second iteration of the model, I tried to push the low poly aspect further. Aiming for a retro game vibe, as I was considering potentially using models I made for possible game projects. But I felt I went too simplistic for my tastes. But instead of scaping the model entirely, I started to rebuild sections of the model to fix issues I had with the current iterations.

I started by completely re-doing the body, along with re-texturing the entire model. Which I felt drastically improved the model both visually and practically. Next, I felt I could improve on the head and hand of the model.

Along with re-doing the hands and head, I leaned more into the style of the first model, while still retaining a hint of the pixel textures. Resulting in a midway point between the two styles.

At this stage, I felt happy enough with my progress in modeling and rigging the character that I moved into 3D Animation. For my first attempt I did a walk cycle with the model.

I've begun working on objects to use in animations while I learn the 3D Animation process.

Starting with a revolver I designed for the character, as I thought it would be interesting to animate a character interacting with an object that has moving parts.
